Memphis, TN March 7, 2006 – The Mississippi River Natural and Recreational Corridor Project announces the deployment of their new website at www.msrivertn.org. Visitors will enjoy a dynamic experience through AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) technology, which allows the viewer to interact with satalite/road map views through a variety of categories including river sites, lakes and bluffs. The site also encourages use of its Discussion Board where users can engage in discussions, post questions or information within a variety of forums. Town Hall Meetings throughout the corridor will also be reported on the site.
To protect, conserve and enhance wildlife; to provide a lifetime of learning opportunities; to provide warm, memorable hospitality which encourages return visits to the corridor – are just a few of the profound duties of The Mississippi River Natural and Recreational Corridor Project. "We wanted to consolidate view points from all six West Tennessee counties within the Mississippi River Corridor and a great website seemed to be the perfect solution. It will serve as a unique educational tool for students, teachers, tourists and local leaders with a focus on beautiful photography, interesting content and a community forum with diverse opinions,” says Diana Threadgill, the Project Director. "The website will engage the visitor to learn more about our great river and hopefully, to explore the Corridor. This translates into more nature based tourism and economic development for the region. We are absolutely thrilled with the impact this site is making in awareness and increased appreciation for our magnificent river and history." The Mid-South Chapter of the American Red Cross Hires LunaWeb for Website Redesign
Full Story
The Mid-South American Red Cross Website, memphis.redcross.org, will soon have a new look. The organization has selected LunaWeb to not only develop a fresh design, but also integrate contemporary navigation and new interactive features such as a shopping cart, and an online course catalog with online registration. Among the cart’s offerings will be the increasingly popular disaster preparedness kits. In the wake of natural disasters such as Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, an organization such as the Red Cross needs immediate site updates. LunaWeb will be utilizing a newer language called AJAX to develop an intuitive content management system so that the Red Cross may update the site in-house without any prior knowledge of web content management. "The increasing applications of AJAX such as Google maps, Flickr.com, and Yahoo’s Mindset make it the natural selection for site updates by a non-programmer" states Amie Vanderford, a strategist for LunaWeb. The site is due to launch in the fourth quarter. LunaWeb is a Memphis-based Web development and consulting firm specializing in risk minimizing approaches for software development on the ever-evolving Web. Dave Barger, President of LunaWeb, Inc., shares his extensive knowledge about how the Web’s inherent yardsticks can help organizations measure results at the Entrepreneurs Roundtable. His presentation will occur at noon, February 15 th in the Sparks Companies Training Room at 775 Ridge Lake Blvd. on the 4 th Floor. LunaWeb’s task has always been to steer organizations to optimally take advantage of the Web. These opportunities often lie in enhancing marketing and sales programs and to create better in-house information sharing. “There is a whole realm to Internet marketing that is rarely utilized or explored,” says Barger. “For example, you can measure results and quantify the affects of change quickly and easily, as opposed to most traditional advertising mediums whose results are often nebulous and practically immeasurable.” Barger’s talk will focus on two key areas: Marketing and Sales:
Information Sharing:
Barger will also be speaking at “Another Chamber Advantage” in July to members of the Memphis Regional Chamber of Commerce. Dave Barger is the president of Lunaweb, Inc., a privately owned and operated Web development firm that provides Web design, Web application development, Website marketing, and hosting. For more information email: sales@lunaweb.net As appeared in the Memphis Business Journal (02-27-2004) The Memphis Redbirds Web site, www.memphisredbirds.com, will soon have a new look. The franchise has teamed up with LunaWeb, a Memphis-based Web development and consulting firm, on a complete Web site redesign, which is already in the works. Besides a fresh design, Redbirds fans will enjoy vastly improved navigation, new interactive features such as a weekly trivia question, more comprehensive promotional information and expanded online ticketing options. Parents will be able to sign up their children online for the Rockin' Redbirds Fan Club and supporters interested in assisting the charitable Memphis Redbirds Baseball Foundation through memberships or donations will be able to do so through secure online forms. Kevin O'Brien, a consultant for LunaWeb, says the site will be up and running by the team's upcoming April exhibition against Major League affiliate, the St. Louis Cardinals. "As their site expanded, they got into a problem with site content. Things were nested in the site and you'd have to click 10 different times to get to a space when the goal is for one click to get you where you needed to go," he says. "You'd look at some navigation links and you wouldn't know where you were on the site." Kerry Sewell, vice president of marketing and communications for the Redbirds, says the redesign targets convenience for fans. "Our 'fans first' philosophy extends to everything we do and serving our supporters online in the most entertaining and convenient way possible was our goal with this update," he says. "It's going to be a much more interactive site that will inform and excite our fans even more as our technological capabilities expand." LunaWeb Launches its Newest Schedule of Lunaversity
Lunaversity is a service offered monthly by LunaWeb to clarify and define current Web related interests of its clients. The topics at Lunaversity have evolved since its beginnings in 1995. “Our first iteration of Lunaversity involved some ‘getting around the Web’ basics such as entering a Web address, using a search engine, even clicking a link. We also had a regular session on how to use email,” said Dave Barger, LunaWeb president. Project and Customer Care Manager, Becky Joyner adds, “Our clients’ interests today involve more specifics in site traffic, online marketing, wireless, and spam/virus issues.” The upcoming six months of Lunaversity are centered around:
Lunaversity is held at LunaWeb’s offices on American Way and start at 6:00pm and last approximately 90 minutes. Lunaversity is available to all LunaWeb clients who may register at http://www.lunaweb.net/start/Lunaversity.asp . Cottonseed? Oh yea. "Cotton is King" and that includes the seeds. Being in the Cotton Capital of the World, Memphis is also the home of the National Cottonseed Products Association (NCPA). "A major service we provide to our members is our website where we support processors of cottonseed and marketers of cottonseed products, as well as the cottonseed itself. These include oil mills, refiners, product dealers and product brokers." said Ben Morgan, Executive Vice Prdesident of the NCPA. While the industry itself was realized around the time of the Civil War, the organization's roots go back to the late 1890's. "It's an honor asdto be a part of an historic and evolving organization," said Dave Barger, LunaWeb’s president. He adds, "When we were first approached by the NCPA, their site was suffering the phenomena of outgrowing itself: a classic problem." The organization first launched its site in 1996 and with its members quickly realizing its benefit, more and more information was added. "We added a bulletin board, industry statistics, member directory, and even a hit counter. Like a seed, the Web sprouted new technologies, better accessibility and higher speeds," said Morgan. The continual additions warranted a complete overhaul from the first to the last pixel. After gaining a firm understanding of the NCPA's mission and its goals of the site, LunaWeb developed a site that speaks to all three audience segments:
Although the NCPA serves the industry as a whole, it reserves some privileged information for "Members Only" that's accessible on the website via a secure username and password area. The site also feature a news feed from the Biobased Information System that is displayed on the homepage to keep visitors abreast of the absolute latest information available to the industry. Careful planning and tending between the NCPA and LunaWeb harvested the new site on-time and on-budget. "We use a development process that keeps all parties on the 'same page' with good progressive signoffs that maximize the value of the project for our clients and LunaWeb - everybody wins". With headquarters in Memphis, TN, the NCPA serves the Cottonseed Industry by administration of trading rules and standards, foreign market development for cottonseed products, the Web resource www.cottonseed.com, and an information service center for members on legislation, statistics, government regulations, court decisions, and other factors affecting their business. LunaWeb to Launch New Product Line at the Memphis Area Conference for Business Professionals.
Full Story
LunaWeb to Launch New Product Line at the Memphis Area Conference for Business Professionals. LunaWeb, Inc. will launch a new line of Web products designed to upgrade traditional static websites to more useful, interactive and effective sites in a special presentation at the Memphis Area Conference for Business Professionals, August 23. The Memphis-based company’s new upgrade products can add the features of Fortune 500 sites at a fraction of the cost. LunaWeb has designed plug-and-play components that can be added to a site for between $1,000-2,000. The Memphis Area Conference for Business Professionals was chosen to announce their new products due to the synergy of the conference goals as well as the benefits of networking the show. LunaWeb will also be running a limited demonstration of the upgrades during the show “Web users have come to demand more from web sites than static information or entertainment,” said Jeff Duran, LunaWeb’s marketing director. “LunaWeb’s upgrade modules are designed to make a site more useful to our clients and their customers or vendors. Useful sites keep customers coming back and get referred to others.” “If your site hasn’t been touched for a while, it is time to upgrade your site. Just like when you upgrade your computer, you should look at upgrading your Web site. People are reluctant to buy new computers. Similarly, we know most companies really don’t want get new Web sites if they can get the improvements at a fraction of the cost of a new site. LunaWeb upgrades do just that.” “Static, fixed-information sites don’t get much mileage these days. Your customers or employees want the same functions found at enterprise-level sites,” said Duran. “And to get sites working effectively, the costs associated with adding and editing content need to be minimized. When it’s cost-prohibitive, site content gets embarrassingly stale. Our modules put site owners in the driver’s seat.” Duran added that the entire product line features password-protected administration enabling the owner complete control over dynamic content in real-time, without the extra cost. “With only several minutes of instruction, I was taught to add, edit and delete items in the shopping cart for our site,” said Missy West, owner of WestMemorials.com. West’s site, due to launch this month, features memorials for funeral and death care planning, including: granite graveyard stones, cremation urns and columbariums. “I particularly like the bulk upload of products and unlimited categories and subcategories. My husband is glad he doesn't have to learn HTML. Whether you’re a computer novice (like my husband) or a skilled computer-user. The shopping carts at LunaWeb are great.” “Our clients are reacting very positively about our website upgrades,” said Shannon Moran, Client Operations Manager. “In today’s economy, businesses are recognizing the need to add value to existing products and services in order to differentiate themselves from their competitors. These upgrades can also be used internally to automate key business functions that help to increase efficiencies and profits within an organization.” "The latest addition to our website, LunaWeb's news management upgrade, adds even more value to our site,” said Brandon Barrentine, Director of Marketing for B.T.E. “The ability to update the website with news, product releases, or technical documentation and, as a result, generate more repeat visitors, is priceless. Rounded-out by a user-friendly interface, archive manager, and attractive layout, the news management upgrade is just another reason why we rely on LunaWeb to help us meet our Internet initiatives." LunaWeb’s new upgrade modules include:
“With these products, we went on a campaign to bring these impressive features down from the $10,000 level to a couple thousand by writing modular code to handle different kinds of problems,” said Steve Hiss of LunaWeb, who headed up the development team. “Another example is our document archive. There’s not a company out there that doesn’t need this. Every department has forms and documents, especially HR departments,” said Duran. “Most organizations have multiple versions of different forms that all have to used by different groups across multiple departments in a company. Our document archive can keep everything in one place – online.” “Consider documents or forms you use with customers, employees, or vendors. By putting these online in either a public or protected environment, they stay secure, in-control, and up-to-date,” Duran added. “The savings on postage, time, and printing is incredible, not to mention savings from outdated documents that end up as waste. The base price for the Document Archive is only $1599. How’s that for a return on investment?” “Each of our upgrades has immense use. Our Frequently Asked Questions upgrade can be modified every day as easy as using Internet Explorer. You can copy and paste right out of Word. How many questions on basic information do your customer support or sales reps answer that could be done on the Web at almost no cost?” The underlying objective of each module is to provide a clear, quick and measurable return on investment. LunaWeb’s local exposure is what makes the difference according to Duran. “We have the experience, talent and insight to successfully deploy our consultative approach to meet needs that further your progression,” said Dave Barger, LunaWeb’s president. “LunaWeb provides Web-based technologies developed for building a business.” BTERacing.com is an example of this approach. “Since the beginning of our business relationship, Lunaweb has consistently provided innovative, yet practical marketing solutions for our company's presence on the World Wide Web,” said Barrentine. “Many companies remarket products based either on open-source (meaning it’s free for them) or buy licenses for multiple sites,” said Barger. “This is a fine idea until you want something tailored to your company or you want it to look different. Because these modules are designed and developed in-house at LunaWeb, we’re able to ‘pop-the-hood’ and make customized adjustments to suit the needs of our clients.” LunaWeb, Inc. is a privately owned and operated Web development firm that provides Web design and Web based development services that help businesses compete in today’s electronic marketplace. The company offers a wide array of Web hosting packages while also operating as a full service ISP for the business community. For more information email: sales@lunaweb.net . Memphis, Tenn. – December 12, 2001 – LunaWeb, Inc. announced today the launch of the new Memphis Area Technology Council (MATC) Web site. The completely redesigned site offers a taste of technology in Memphis as well as tools for communicating with members and prospective members among many other business related features. As a collaborative effort with NextResearch, Inc., a Memphis based full-service marketing agency, LunaWeb provided e-business consulting, graphic design and backend programming that increases site functionality and reduces overhead within the organization. “The primary focus of our business is to develop Web based systems that add value to our clients’ businesses in three ways – increasing revenue, client retention and overhead reduction,” said Dave Barger, president of Memphis based LunaWeb, Inc. The new Web site assists the MATC with overhead reduction in a number of areas including communications with members and staff as well as with organizational efforts for meetings and events. Other facilitation tools that reduce collaboration overhead include a collective registration process, attendee lists, member administration, and the ability to send broadcast email to registrants of particular events. “Of the many client classifications the Tech Council has, one is its members,” said Denise Bovo, chief marketing officer for NextResearch, Inc. “The site serves to retain members by providing an effective and efficient interactive system allowing them to update their profile data, review or sponsor upcoming events and facilitate member-to-member networking. These increase the value of membership and ultimately the value of the council.” The new MATC Web site can be found on the Internet at www.memphistech.com. ### Memphis, TN – If you’re in the market for a new Ford, a new web site created by LunaWeb can help you save time and money. And for added excitement, if you stop by www.driven2ford.com before June 17, you can register to win a new Ford Focus. “The MidSouth Ford Dealers wanted to focus on younger consumers and needed a tool for advertising local incentives and rebates,” says Dave Barger, president of LunaWeb. “So, we created a visually bold site that showcases Ford’s online capabilities.” The new web site ties into Ford’s Buyer Connection and Dealer Connection to help consumers choose a vehicle and locate a dealer. Selected by the J. Walter Thompson, the advertising agency for the MidSouth Ford Dealers Advertising Fund (FDAF), LunaWeb implemented a strategy that highlights selected models on the web site including the Focus, Mustang, Explorer Sport Trac and Ranger. “Keeping in mind the target audience, we developed content that appeals to our younger buyers,” says Steve Chamberlain, J. Walter Thompson account executive. “LunaWeb demonstrated their technical expertise by making that content easy to navigate and digest.” Chamberlain adds that the promotion and incentives will change frequently, providing a reason for return visits. Funded by the FDAF, the web site presents a united marketing effort with no mention of individual dealerships. “Our goal is to get more advertising bang for the buck by pooling our efforts,” says FDAF board member Larry Lewis of Lewis Ford. www.driven2ford.com is a strategically savvy addition to our advertising tactics.” |
